Brazil 2014: Nigeria uninspiring against Iran
The Super Eagles of Nigeria gave an uninspiring performance against Iran in the second game of the group F fixtures. The Nigerian team dominated possession but lacked the cohesion and cutting edge required to open up the Iranian defence.
The best chance of the game fell to the Iranians who forced a spectacular save from goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama after a goal bound header from a corner kick.
Ogenyi Onazi had earlier squandered Nigeria’s best chance of the evening after he slipped in the penalty box while attempting a shot on goal.
The Iranians, who were comfortable to sit back and defend, seemed satisfied with the result and they may as well as set the stage for being the spoiler in the group.
The goalless draw is the first drawn match of the competition.
