The delegates attending the national conference in Abuja voted Tuesday in favour of government’s taxation of religious organisations. When put into vote, most of the delegates were in favour of the recommendation. Other resolutions passed on the report of the conference’s religion committee were a recommendation that government should discontinue the sponsorship of official government delegations on religious pilgrimage.

However, the delegates voted against making Fridays a work free day and also rejected the recommendation on baring religious bodies along major highways and residential areas.
