Nigeria loses to Argentina
Nigeria’s super Eagles today narrowly lost to Argentina in the ongoing Brazil 2014 world cup. The game ended 3-2 in favour of the South Americans. Argentina drew the first blood with a 3rd minute Lionel Messi strike and Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa quickly equalised a minute later. There was a lull in the game until Messi forced a brilliant save from Nigeria’s goal keeper, Vincent Enyeama, after a superb free kick. Enyeama could however not save another brilliant Messi free kick before the half-time break.
Nigeria’s second half response was swift, and Ahmed Musa scored Nigeria’s equalising goal in the 47th minute. Argentina again took the lead after a poor defending by the Nigerians, following a corner kick. The game became more open and chances fell to both sides.
Nigeria and Argentina have now qualified for the second round of the tournament.
