A suit filed by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi challenging President Goodluck Jonathan’s power to suspend him as governor of Nigeria’s central bank, has been dismissed by a federal high court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria.

The President had suspended Sanusi to pave way for investigations of alleged financial mismanagement at the bank. Sanusi had subsequently challenged the President’s power at the high court on February 24, 2014.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole today ruled that, the court has no jurisdiction to hear the matter, saying the matter is a dispute between an employer and its employee. He further ruled that the National Industrial Court is in the best position to hear the matter.
